Overall Job Function:  Provides support to the Imports manager and allocation team to maintain continuous flow of inbound containers

 
 

Job Responsibility including but not limited to:

 
  • Enters import document information according to information received from the customs broker on a daily basis using internal H&M system
  • Monitors receipt of commercial documents for each container
  • Oversees timely filing of entries for customs clearance
  • Involved in daily e-mail communication and follow up with overseas office
  • Maintains close liaison among agents, brokers, steamship lines, truckers, and warehouses to ensure complete visibility of imports
  • Maintain detailed spreadsheets for ocean containers and air freight
  • Monitors and tracks imports of all commercial and noncommercial goods to the US for the H&M group using various steamship line and airline websites
  • Review freight delivery invoices
  • Assist with tracking of campaign and other hot shipments
  • Assist the inbound planning team with allocation planning
  • Requests expedited delivery for hot shipments
  • Gather documents from origins for the customs broker
  • Monitors deliveries of goods through imports department procedures

Minimum Candidate Qualifications:

  • Requires a minimum of a high school diploma
  • Minimum of 6 months employment with H&M
  • Knowledge and understanding of shipping documents, broker invoices and freight invoices helpful but not required
 
Competencies:
  • Detail oriented, with strong organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook, and ability to adapt to company specific systems
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment
  • Ability to work as part of a team
